Without a memory upgrade or replace the processor, the actual performance of your computer / notebook can be improved in several ways. Especially for the Operating System (OS) Windows XP, there are 6 [+1] how to improve the performance of your OS.

There are several application programs which have the carrier (default) which executes the program when we just turn on the computer (start-up). Common example is Updater program Acrobat, Real Player, AOL, MS Groove, Winamp, Matlab, the venerable and much more. If the program is active when the start-up, then the start-up to the normal state (ready) will require a longer time. Therefore, the non-switch programs are not required at initial start-up. • After the restart, on-screen confirmation will appear again, and choose "option for not showing this dialogue every time your PC reboots "
2. Optimization Rules Display (Display Settings)

Normally, Windows XP gives the display a "beautiful", and of course this requires a resource (memory backup) the excess. Therefore, it is better if you choose the look that ordinary simple alias. Here's how:

Windows OS and application program always store temporary files (temporary files) in your hard disk, thus requiring space. This will create conditions for the hard disk will be full so it will affect the speed of Windows as well as factors reducing the efficiency of disk access and virtual memory operations. This phenomena is generally a problem when we used to browsing computer and surf the Internet with high frequency. Ways to overcome them is

5. Disk Defragmenter

Often copy and delete files on your hard disk causes the arrangement of the files in your hard disk is not uniform. Between the file folder A folder will be scattered among B, C, or D. And the file folder B and vice versa can be irregular in the space folder A, C or D and so on. This will slow the performance of Windows to access the data (the reader will find hard disk files on your hard disk disk has irregular). And usually, after use and copy / delete occurs for 1, 2, 3 or 4 months, then it will file structure is irregular. For that, we need to tidy up the file. Do the following:

  • If that comes up is "You need to defragment this volume", then click Defragment. If otherwise, then click Close.
  • After seleasai in C, you can check for hard disk partition on the D, E and so on.
Note: do checks and / or defragment 2 or 3 months. Do not defragment your frequently because it will have a negative impact on the hard disk. Maximum of once in two months or more.

6. Clean the Registry System that is used

Method 6 is rather difficult because it requires a program to clean / delete system registers the programs that are not used anymore (the remnants of uninstalled programs). In addition, many register files that error in the Windows OS over time. This will slow down the performance of Windows. Therefore, periodically (perhaps 3 or 6 months) we need maintenance "register files are problematic. Some programs such as cleaning the register system Ashampoo TuneUp Utilities, RegCure and much more. Actually, if you understand the function registers on Windows, you can do it manually through the command regedit. However, it is rather difficult for the layperson.

7. Additional confidential +3

In addition to these six steps, in fact there are several other ways such as:

  • The selection of an antivirus program that is efficient, effective and reliable. It is undeniable that many reliable antivirus would slow down the performance of Windows. The use of antiviral very dependent on the "treatment" given to the computer / laptop. If your computer is often inserted the flash disk or download "weird", then you should use a reliable antivirus. If not, you can without using antivirus, but with manual protection.
  • Setting "Direct Memory Access" (DMA)
